Thanksgiving Festival in Bolzano
On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 from 8.30 a.m. until 5 p.m., the Bolzano Thanksgiving Festival will take place at the historic Walther Square in the South Tyrolean capital.
The event, organised by the Bauernbund, the Farmers‘and Direct Farmers’ Union of South Tyrol, in cooperation with Red Rooster, wants to give thanks for a successful harvest.
Around 33 food stands are set up for the event, where farmers and growers offer their genuine local products, both fresh and seasoned. You can taste and buy products, such as fruit, vegetables, juices, syrups, aromatic herbs, cheeses, cold cuts and much more.
The day offers a rich programme of live musical entertainment with the village bands. For those who want to learn more about tractors, there will be a small exhibition of tractor models in Via della Mostra. Not to be missed are the cooking shows, which every hour from 10.30 a.m. will invite participants to try their hand at preparing traditional South Tyrolean specialities, using local products.
Even for the youngest visitors, fun is guaranteed: a specially equipped area will be set up for children. Here, they will be able to play with the hay and visit the small didactic zoo, which will give them the opportunity to stroke the farm animals.
Get carried away by curiosity and come to Bolzano, join the celebrations of this weekend dedicated to nature and its fruits, and learn more about the local products and traditions of the South Tyrolean territory.
