Walk along Plan de Corones Anterselva

Valle di Anterselva: The green pearl among the mountains

The Valle di Anterselva is a charming side valley of the Val Pusteria, about 18 kilometers long and nestled in the heart of the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park. Here nature reigns supreme, among dense forests, verdant slopes and majestic glacial peaks such as Collalto and Collaspro, which rise above 3,000 meters. An alpine paradise offering breathtaking views and the purest mountain air.

Alpine villages and the charm of Lake Anterselva

At the entrance to the valley lies Rasun, the first inhabited center, followed by three fascinating mountain villages: Anterselva di Sotto, Anterselva di Mezzo and Anterselva di Sopra. Continuing toward the heart of the valley, you reach the true jewel of this landscape: Lake Anterselva, set at an altitude of 1,642 meters. With its 38-meter depth and 44 hectares of surface area, it is the third-largest lake in South Tyrol, formed by the natural damming of the Anterselva stream after ancient landslides.

The lake is a perfect place for those seeking peace, relaxation and nature. Around the shore winds a nature trail of about an hour and a half, created in 2003, offering interesting insights into the alpine flora, wildlife and environmental features of this high-altitude habitat. An immersive experience for both adults and children, ideal even in the warmer months.

Up to the border: Passo Stalle

Beyond the lake, the road leads to Passo Stalle, at 2,052 meters above sea level. This pass connects Italy and Austria and is open only during the summer months with regulated traffic. It is a spectacular stop for hikers, cyclists and lovers of high-mountain scenery.

Anterselva, between nature and silence

Among crystal-clear lakes and unspoiled alpine landscapes, Anterselva is the ideal place for anyone wishing to disconnect and reconnect with the authentic nature of South Tyrol. An invitation to slow down, walk, breathe deeply… and be enchanted.
