The Latemar.Natura path is a thematic trail located in the Latemarium area, in Val d'Ega, Obereggen. This trail begins at the top station of the Oberholz chairlift, accessible from the Obereggen lift parking lot, where you follow trail n. 23.

The trail offers a series of interactive stations providing information on the flora, fauna, and geology of the area, making it particularly suitable for families with children. You then continue towards the Weigler hut and embark on trail n. 9, which leads to a giant wooden sphere shaped like an eyeball. The Rastenbach Gorge Trail is ideal for children with a great sense of adventure. This fascinating loop trail starts from the parking lot on Via Raschtenbach and passes through the scenic Rastenbach stream gorge, leading to the early Christian ruins of the Church of San Pietro, dating back to the 4th-6th centuries AD.

After parking at Via Raschtenbach, trail n. 1 begins with an ascent through the forest. After about 15 minutes, the terrain becomes rockier. A short detour of 100 meters leads to a waterfall, perfect for a refreshing stop.

Continuing along the main trail, you’ll face exposed iron stairs leading to a panoramic point with a breathtaking view of Lake Caldaro. Further along, you’ll cross a suspension bridge, making the trail even more adventurous, until you reach the ruins of the Church of San Pietro.

You’ll then reach a junction, where trail 2A will allow you to complete the loop trail and return to the parking lot.

Important note: Whether you choose the loop or the linear route, the exposed iron steps are present. The grating ensures safety, but those who suffer from vertigo may find some sections challenging.
