The Valleys of South Tyrol on the interactive map
The regions of South Tyrol are divided into three main levels:
- at the lowest level, the valleys open up lush and fertile in the foothill areas, dotted with vineyards and small villages
- further up are the mountain passes, slopes, and ridges from which you can venture through the passes to ascend or descend, with wide plateaus along the way
- finally, the peaks, ridgelines, and crests, with their glaciers and mountain spines, reveal the silent and eternal power of the high mountains with their sheer cliffs
At each of these levels, you can venture along ancient mule tracks and trails or marvel at the changing colours of the rocky peaks, which glow from pink to red at sunrise and sunset. You can also visit small villages located on plateaus or hills, places that often preserve an authenticity that alone makes the journey worthwhile. To navigate the many valleys of South Tyrol, one of the best ways to gather information is by using the map of its valleys. The interactive version allows you to select an area directly on the map and intuitively discover its locations.
