Stube, Faith, and Tradition

A symbolic space in the centre is the traditional Stube, where the valley’s last midwife recounts, through a moving video, what childbirth at home was like when there were no clinics or modern assistance.

On the third floor, the exhibition focuses on the religious and superstitious practices that shaped the lives of Val Martello’s inhabitants for centuries: prayers, processions, folk beliefs, and marriage rituals reveal the deep spirituality of the past.
