Andriano: The Discreet Charm of the Oltradige
Among the smallest municipalities in the Garden of South Tyrol, Andriano is a haven of tranquility nestled at an altitude of 285 meters, at the foot of the majestic Monte Macaion. Here, where the climate is mild and nature flourishes, the vineyards and orchards create a harmonious and welcoming landscape, perfect for those seeking a relaxing holiday filled with peace and authenticity.
In addition to the warm hospitality of its inhabitants, which makes every stay even more enjoyable, Andriano also captivates visitors with its history, architectural beauty, and numerous opportunities for hiking and leisure.
Between Medieval History and Green Walks
In summer, one of the favorite spots for those staying in Andriano is the outdoor swimming pool, set on the edge of the forest and immersed in the calm of the landscape. But this small village also tells its long story: the ruins of Castelforte, overlooking the village from above, date back to the Middle Ages and were first mentioned in a document from 1220. Their distinctive red porphyry stones, typical of the area, speak of a quarrying tradition that began in 1917.
Not far away, surrounded by a chestnut forest, lies Castle Tordilupo, still a private residence, which adds a noble and silent elegance to the landscape. Also not to be missed is the Parish Church of San Valentino, with frescoes dating back to the 13th century, preserving an artistic heritage of great value.
Wine Culture and Passion for Sport
Andriano is also a land of wines. It is home to the oldest winery in South Tyrol, founded in 1893 and now part of the Terlano Winery. An ideal place for wine tastings and gourmet experiences, where local flavors blend with the beauty of the landscape.
The village is connected by a network of well-marked trails winding through woods and hills, perfect for hiking or cycling. Cycling enthusiasts shouldn’t miss the May Day bike race, a much-loved sporting event that enlivens the village streets every year.
Andriano: A Place to Slow Down and Recharge
Perfect for those seeking a holiday away from the hustle and bustle, Andriano offers authentic landscapes, picturesque views, and genuine hospitality. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or a curious explorer of flavors, this corner of the Oltradige will surprise you with its simplicity and beauty.
