Marmor & Marillen: Discovering the Treasures of Lasa
Lasa, in the heart of Val Venosta, is famous for two things: apricots and marble. As every year for over two decades, the first weekend of August marks the return of Marmor & Marillen, the festival that celebrates these two local treasures.
The village hosts a lively market with over 40 stalls open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, offering local delicacies and showcasing the work of regional artists and sculptors.
Live music and a rich program of events for both adults and children complete the celebration—paying tribute to the enduring symbols of this land.
Lasa marble, often called the “white gold from the Jenn quarry”, is internationally renowned. This precious stone, known for its rare purity, is highly valued for its durability and lasting shine.
The apricots of Lasa, on the other hand, are a true symbol of summer in Val Venosta. With their unique flavor, oval shape, delicate skin, and yellow-orange color, they are a seasonal favorite.
Don't miss this special event! It’s the perfect chance to taste unique apricot-based recipes, watch master sculptors at work with marble, and enjoy traditional music performed by local bands.
