Christmas Markets in South Tyrol 2026

When festive lights illuminate the historic streets and the scent of mulled wine, cinnamon and freshly baked apple strudel fills the air, one of the most atmospheric times of the year begins in South Tyrol. From 27 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, the five major Christmas Markets in Bolzano, Merano, Bressanone, Brunico and Vipiteno invite you to stroll among the stalls, enjoy local specialities and experience the magic of Advent.

Among the festively decorated wooden huts, you will find South Tyrolean handicrafts, Christmas decorations and regional gift ideas. Traditional Advent flavours are part of the experience too, from Zelten and apple strudel to savoury specialities, hot mulled wine and punch. Music, concerts and family activities accompany the Christmas Markets throughout the Advent season.

Each town gives its Christmas Market a character of its own: from the traditional Walther Square in Bolzano to the festive Passirio Promenade in Merano and the historic centres of Bressanone, Brunico and Vipiteno. Smaller towns and villages throughout South Tyrol also host Christmas markets and Advent events, creating special moments of winter atmosphere.

The five Original South Tyrolean Christmas Markets also place particular emphasis on sustainability and are certified as Green Events.
