The best rock and climbing gyms in South Tyrol
All across South Tyrol, you can experience the thrill of climbing on beautiful natural rock faces, thanks to numerous climbing gyms suitable for both experienced athletes and beginners, as well as families with children. Here are some of the most beautiful in the region.

Lake Braies Climbing Gym
Along the circular trail around Lake Braies, on the left shore, you can reach a climbing area in about 30 minutes on foot, featuring 15 equipped routes. The lower wall is perfect for beginners, offering plenty of holds, while the upper section provides more technical and challenging passages. The bolting is excellent across all routes. To access the most exciting climbs, continue past the rest area.
Juval Climbing Gym
At the entrance to the Val Senales valley lies the Juval climbing area, ideal for families as well. It offers around 70 routes, best enjoyed from spring through autumn. Start from the Farmers’ Shop parking lot and follow the path along the river until you reach the climbing zone.
Villa Santa Caterina Climbing Gym
Located on private land, this gym offers walls up to 20 meters high, with various angles and inclinations. The Hinkelstein sector is designed for children and beginners, while more experienced climbers can challenge themselves in the Olto Fuchs and Betty Blue sectors, which require strength and technique.
St. Hippolyt Climbing Gym
Recently renovated, this climbing spot is ideal from May to October. It can be reached from the parking area just beyond the Narano tunnel, in the direction of Lake Narano, and offers a nice variety of routes in a scenic and peaceful setting.

Val di Funes Climbing Gym
Here climbing becomes more demanding, with natural walls full of holes and handholds carved into the rock. A fun and safe experience, starting from the Zannes Alpine Hut, surrounded by the unique scenery of the Odle Group.
Obereggen Adventure Park
A perfect alternative for those who want to test their balance and agility in total safety. The Obereggen Adventure Park features 25 stations including nets, suspension bridges, logs, and ziplines—all set in the heart of the UNESCO Dolomites. Suitable for all ages, the park is equipped with cutting-edge safety systems.
Kletterhalle Salewa Cube Bolzano
Italy’s largest indoor climbing gym is located at the Salewa headquarters in Bolzano. With 2,000 square meters of climbable surface and the possibility to climb outdoors thanks to the large entrance that opens up in good weather, the Salewa Cube can host up to 250 climbers at once. It’s perfect for year-round training, taking advantage of Bolzano’s more than 300 days of sunshine.
