Thanksgiving Festival in Bolzano
On Saturday, October 11, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Walther Square in Bolzano will host the traditional Thanksgiving Festival, a much-anticipated event celebrating the end of the harvest and the abundance of local produce.
Organized by the Südtiroler Bauernbund (South Tyrolean Farmers’ Association) in collaboration with Gallo Rosso, the event honors the work of local farmers and the authenticity of South Tyrolean products.
For the occasion, the square will turn into a bustling farmers’ market with around 33 food stands. Farmers and producers will showcase and sell a wide variety of local specialties: fresh and aged cheeses, fruits, vegetables, juices, syrups, herbs, spirits, cured meats, and more—ready to taste and take home.
The full program includes:
- Live music from various local bands
- A small tractor exhibition on Via della Mostra, for enthusiasts and curious visitors
- Hourly show cooking sessions featuring traditional South Tyrolean dishes made with local ingredients
Children will have their own dedicated area with straw bale games and a small educational petting zoo, where they can meet farm animals and enjoy a hands-on, fun learning experience.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy an authentic weekend celebrating tradition, flavor, and rural culture in the heart of Bolzano. Be inspired and take part in this vibrant tribute to nature and its bounty!
