Sellaronda Skimarathon
On March 22nd, as per tradition, will be held the night ski mountaineering race: the Sellaronda Skimarathon. The Sellaronda Skimarathon, or the tour of the passes: Pordoi, Sella, Gardena and Campolongo, an exciting race through enchanted villages and breathtaking landscapes.
This year, the Sellaronda Skimarathon turns 30 years since it started and will celebrate in Canazei.
It is only open to the most experienced skiers, due to the complexity of the race. The pathway is 42 km long, with a difference in height of 2700 m.
The skiers in teams of two will be equipped with sealskins to protect themselves from the cold and a head torch to illuminate the track. At night, you will go through the 4 passes of the Sella Group, one of the most beautiful and demanding in the Dolomites. This year, the start and finish will be in Canazei/Val di Fassa, passing through Passo Sella/Rifugio Salei, Passo Gardena, Corvara/Alta Badia, Passo Campolongo, Arabba, and then reaching Passo Pordoi and the finish line in Canazei, in Piazza Marconi.
If you want to experience the race up close, you can follow the live race from 19:15! In Canazei there will be numerous activities to spend time, waiting for the arrival of athletes.
