The Gardena Valley is located at the centre of the Dolomites and has developed into one of the most beautiful and varied holiday areas in Italy. With its numerous ski slopes and lifts the Gardena Valley is the ideal place for many winter sports: from snowboarding on the Langkofel mountain to cross-country skiing on the wonderful slopes of the Sella Group.
In summer time the Gardena Valley offers innumerable points for excursions, walking paths, fixed-aid climbs, mountain bike paths and much more. The Gardena Valley, a place of fun and adventure and nevertheless a place where tradition and history are still preserved.
The valley stands out for its unique mountains and flora, which have contributed to the amazing upturn this holiday region has experienced over the last 50 years. At the valley bottom the three main villages of the Gardena Valley can be found: Ortisei (4,350 inhabitants), Selva (2,400 inhabitants) and St. Christina (1,670 inhabitants) are well known for the down hill slope of the skiing World Cup.
